Have fun Bucknell, but keep it clean!
Wednesday, October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, an advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases.
Critical moments for handwashing are after using the toilet and before handling food. Washing hands with soap and water can dramatically reduce diarrheal and respiratory illnesses (and deaths in many parts of the world).
Wash regularly with soap and water but especially:
BEFORE handling or eating food
BEFORE entering a doctor’s office or health care center
BEFORE handling small children or visiting the elderly
AFTER using the bathroom
AFTER touching pets, animals, or their supplies
AFTER sneezing or blowing your nose
For added protection, be sure to wash your hands with antibacterial soap or hand sanitizer. Consider carrying a small bottle of hand sanitizer to use in between classes and before eating on-the-go snacks.
